Dramatic power, sublime lyricism.. rousing...brooding ... plenty of passion...a certain playfulness and vitality...deeply soulful tone.”    The New York Times

The Silk Road was an ancient network of trade routes flowing from China to Constantinople. Silks, dyes, and spices traveled by camel, horse, and yak-drawn carts to the Mediterranean Sea, where they spread out to the west, bestowing wealth and prestige, forever changing Europe’s palates and preferences. But traffic also traveled east. Tango in Tehran? La Cumparsita in Kabul? Join internationally renowned QuinTango, Argentine bandoneonist Emmanuel Trifilio and world percussionist Tom Teasley for a Silk Road journey to where the tango beat lands in Damascus and Istanbul.
