Student Holiday Activities


Activities for FCPS student holidays for the 2017-2018 school year.

Have fun while school is out! RCC offers fun and enriching programs to help keep your child happy and engaged during Fairfax County Public Schools’ breaks.

Fun Fusion Days
(7 – 11 years old)
Celebrate student holidays (and teacher workdays) with RCC and participate in a variety of activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games, movies and cooking. Our skilled staff will lead fun and enriching activities all day to keep your child happy and engaged. Campers must bring their own lunch, snacks, and drinks.

Winter Break Fun Zone
(7 – 11 years old)
There is no excuse for the winter doldrums – spend your time off from school having fun with RCC during four days of fun-filled activities. Campers must bring lunch, drinks and snacks each day. A welcome letter containing all pertinent information and the final itinerary will be mailed approximately one week prior to the start of Winter Break Fun Zone. Campers will need to wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Parents/guardians must download and submit camp forms by December 13, the last day to register. Please note there will be no camp on Wednesday, December 20 due to our annual staff event.

Thursday, December 21
Arts & crafts, cooking, geocaching and an all-LEGO marathon
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Friday, December 22
Visit to Port Discovery Museum, Baltimore, MD
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Spring Break Camp
(7 – 11 years old)
Campers will have the opportunity to relax and have fun with many activities such as cooking, arts and crafts, geocaching, movies, fun, and field trips. Campers must bring their own lunch, drink, and snack. Parents/guardians must download camp forms, no later than March 21, the last day of registration.

Bowling/Movies, VA

Tuesday, March 27
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Campers will enjoy an 11:00 a.m. performance of Erth's DINOSAUR ZOO LIVE! Crafts, stories and other dinosaur-related activities will abound. Camp fee includes one ticket to the performance.

Wednesday, March 28
Maryland Science Center, Baltimore, MD
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Thursday, March 29
Arts & crafts, swimming, movies and sports
9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Spring Intro LARK (Lake Anne Art Rave for Kids)
(7 – 13 years old)
Spring into LARK and join us for this mini session of the popular summer program. The session will incorporate lessons in music, drawing, painting and sculpture. On the final day, participants will present a small gallery exhibition to display their work.

5, 5-hour sessions at RCC Lake Anne
